Margot Robbie has addressed her controversial kiss with Brad Pitt after mounting criticism.

“It wasn’t in the script,” she said of the kiss. “But I thought, When will I get a chance to kiss Brad Pitt? I’ll just go for it. “
“I said, Damien, I think Nellie would come up to kiss Jack,” she recalls, talking about their characters, Nellie LaRue and Jack Conrad. Damien was like, ‘Well, she can — wait, wait. You just want to kiss Brad Pitt. And I said, “Oh, so sue me. This opportunity may not arise again.”
Many social media users took issue with Margot’s comments for a number of reasons. Several people said there would be more anger if the roles were reversed, arguing that the majority “Let it passBecause it was a woman making those remarks.
“Imagine if Brad Pitt snuck in an unwritten kiss with Margot Robbie,” one tweet wrote. You guys find it pretty rather than annoying, right? another said.
Others were annoyed at how eager Margot was to kiss Brad given that his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, had accused him of physical and emotional abuse.
In fact, Angelina said last year that she feared for the safety of her four children during her and Brad’s marriage when she opened up about feeling “broken” over the “past decade.” The couple got engaged in 2012 after seven years together, and finally tied the knot in 2014. Angelina ended up filing for divorce from Brad just two years later, in 2016.
Now, Margot has spoken out about the controversial kiss herself, explaining that she and Brad W Babylon Cast “establish” their “boundaries” before signing on to the project.
“We all set our boundaries before making this movie, because it’s a movie that really pushes boundaries in so many ways,” she told Entertainment Tonight at the film’s premiere.
Then Margot seemed to shut down the criticism head-on, saying, “We’re all fine.”
Likewise, Brad echoed Margot’s initial comments about the unscripted kiss while defending his longtime friend and costar at the premiere as well.
Discussing the kiss with Access Hollywood, Brad recalled: “I said, ‘When am I going to get another chance? “Okay, let’s get this.”
Talking about it, he added, “We’ve been in three movies together, and this is the first time we’ve ever seen a scene together.” Once upon a time in hollywood And the The Big Short.
Brad also told Entertainment Tonight that Margot didn’t “necessarily” sneak the kiss out completely because “there’s always room for character interpretation.”
“Trust me, that’s the coolest thing you can do about this,” he added with a laugh. “She’s on fire about this. It’s the best I’ve ever seen of her.”
