James Corden admits he would “fail” not to “cry” during the latest episode of The Late Late Show

James Corden opened up about his exit from The Late Late Show while joining close friend Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Friday.

The 44-year-old actor said he thinks he will “fail massively” at “not crying” during the final episode, but will try to keep it together.

The Gavin & Stacey star added that he’s “going to miss the show terribly” — which will end in Spring 2023.

The Ocean’s 8 actor admitted that filming the final episode wasn’t going to be easy at all. “My intention,” he said, “at which I think I shall fail greatly, is not to weep all hour, which I think I shall be.”

So I’m really going to try to keep it together. Our intention is, you know, to go out the way we went in and I’m going to miss it terribly.

Corden, who recently admitted that he was “terrified” of leaving his show, also told Jamie that he was very inspired to take the initial professional step.

Shortly before the talk show hosts pulled a musical number where they performed a medley of popular Christmas tunes, such as Last Christmas by Wham, James was greeted on stage by a cheering crowd.

James revealed to Jimmy that the main reason he moved out was, “primarily because we’re away from home, and we really want our kids to know what it’s like to grow up in London.”

The Peter Rabbit star shares three children, Max, 11; Carey, eight; and Charlotte, five, with wife Julia Carey of ten years. He added that he wanted his children to have a good relationship with their grandparents. And that’s when you really don’t come back.

The actor expressed his sadness at leaving the late-night talk show, however, he felt “It sure is The right thing to do,” adding, “I loved every second of doing it.” ”

James’ guest appearance on The Tonight Show was the actor’s first, but the former Saturday Night Live comedian expressed that the two “hung out a few times.”

The stars then revealed their “running joke,” with James explaining that it started when he walked up to Jimmy at a party when the comedian reached to take a sip of his drink.

‘And I pounced, picked it up, looked you dead in the eye and drank it all up and put it back again,’ James recalls humorously. From then on, the two would do the little thing if they were at an event together.

Friends also had a special, poignant moment on the show, with James telling Jamie, “I don’t know if I’d be hosting my show if it wasn’t for watching you do this show and all the people you have here.” ”

Towards the end of the interview, the SNL alumnus emotionally expressed to James that he would “miss” watching his show, and that you would do things that would make me want to be better at my job. So, I want to thank you for everything you do.

The hosts then shared a quick hug, before Gina Ortega was welcomed onto the stage. She turned heads wearing a black sheer dress with a white scoop neck and matching cuffs. A black tie with a silver chrome corset was added to accentuate her slim waist.

The actress catapulted into the spotlight with her lead role in the popular Netflix show, Wednesday.

Jenna and Jamie talk about her famous dance scene from episode four, and she reveals that two days before filming the scene, director Tim Burton asked her to choreograph her own.

The talented beauty admitted that while Tim thought she’d been working on something for a while, the star actually “has no plan.”

Gina informs Jamie that she “hasn’t slept in two days” and watches many videos to gather ideas, such as watching “archival footage of goth kids dancing in clubs in the 1980s”.

The Scream actress stated that Netflix told her the dance was going viral on TikTok but she didn’t believe it. “Then they were right,” she added humorously.

Also Friday, James was spotted posing in front of a James Corden painting in conversation with MTV’s Josh Horowitz painting and showing in New York City.

He could be seen wearing the same outfit he wore when he joined Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

During the session, the actor opened up about his latest dark comedy, Mammals, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video last month in November.

According to the IMDB synopsis, the series follows, “A Michelin-starred chef whose world comes crashing down when he discovers shocking secrets about his pregnant wife.” Other talented actors in the show include Sally Hawkins, singer Tom Jones, and Melia Creeling.

At the event, James crossed paths with actor Sam Rockwell, who has appeared in films like Jojo Rabbit, The Green Mile, and See How They Run. The two stars stopped to take a quick and memorable photo together.
