Reality TV personality Christina Hall, 39, said Thursday she suffers from mercury and lead poisoning — and fears her home renovation work is making her sick.
The Flip or Flop star revealed her health issues on her Instagram story on Thursday. She had told her followers that she was suffering from the disease last week, and she feared that the cause of her illness might be her breast implants.
Diagnostic tests found the real culprit. Ms. Hall fears that her home renovation work may be the source of her problems, saying: ‘[the problems] Most likely out of all the gross homes i have been in and i have an overgrowth of small intestine bacteria.
Lead poisoning occurs over time as a result of continuous exposure to the dangerous chemical. While its use in homes and buildings is strictly regulated in the United States, many older homes still contain lead paint, pipes, and other materials.
The problem: Christina Hall announced on her Insta Stories Thursday that she has lead and mercury poisoning
Ms. Hall rose to fame in 2014, starring alongside her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa on their HGTV show.
Before their Hollywood days, the couple ran a real estate agency in Orange County, California, which is where they flipped their homes.
After a decade of house flipping, working sloppy building sites, Mrs. Hall fears her job may be responsible for her recent illness.
Lead buildup in the body can occur over a period of years. While every small exposure to the chemical presents a small risk, repeated exposure over long periods of time can cause a problem.
The paint and tubes used in older homes often contain lead, as the risks of exposure to the chemical were unknown decades ago. Industrial dust can also be a source.
Other sources of exposure include polluted water, soil, or air.
Symptoms in adults include high blood pressure, muscle and abdominal pain, memory problems, and headaches.
Lead exposure is even more dangerous for children because it can severely affect the development of the brain, nervous system, and other vital organs.
Chelation therapy is used to treat lead exposure. This process injects an acidic compound into a person’s blood, which attaches itself to metals such as lead, and then exits the body through urination.
The operation: Christina was dealing with “unexplained health issues” that she thought might be related to her breast implants, so she had her screened through quantitative biofeedback

Ant and Christina tied the knot three days before Christmas 2018 at their Newport Beach home — but they divorced less than two years later.
They announced their separation in September 2020 just after Hudson’s first birthday, and then waged a pitched custody battle over their little one.
Earlier this year, Ant filed an emergency order for full custody of Hudson, while allowing Christina to have him every weekend.
He accused her in court documents of being an insecure mom who only spent “9 full days each month” on average with Hudson and constantly paraded about him on social media when he was in her care, TMZ reported.

“What Ant is doing makes me so sad,” Christina responded in Us Weekly. “If it was really Hudson’s, he says, this should have been dealt with privately with a private judge or mediation, as my attorney and I have suggested.”
A judge rejected Ant’s emergency order, ruling that he had made “insufficient presentation” to show that the arrangement should be changed immediately.
However, the custody battle continued and was scheduled to go to trial next March until you and Christina finally reached a settlement this month.
The scheduled trial has been canceled and both parents will continue to have “legal and joint physical custody,” according to court documents obtained by People.
