Trevion Henderson misses the Ohio State University football playoff round
Ohio State announced Tuesday night on Twitter without TreVeyon Henderson for the College Football game.
Henderson tweeted after OSU’s loss to Michigan that he was playing through a fracture and torn ligament in his left foot.
“I have to operate on my foot because it has been so bad since the third game,” Henderson told the Dispatch. “I was making it worse by going back there.”
The surgery is scheduled for Friday.
“It really hurts,” said Henderson. “I’d hardly been working out all season. I went through a bunch of different cleats to try and break through, but the pain was insane. I really don’t know how I managed to get through the games I played in. I just tried to do the best I could.” “.

His sophomore season, like that of fellow outfielder Mian Williams, was hampered by injuries. Henderson has run for 571 yards and six touchdowns this season, averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
“The season didn’t go as I had planned, but I’m glad my brothers are still in it and able to go to the playoff. I’m very self-critical. My goal is to be great. I want to be the best in college football, and I haven’t achieved that this year,” Henderson said. I can make a bunch of excuses for myself for the injury I was dealing with, but I don’t like to make excuses for myself.
“I was trying to do what was best for the team, but I wasn’t doing what was best for me.”
Henderson said he injured his foot on a touchdown early in the Toledo game in Week 3 of the season. He wasn’t quite sure what happened on the run, but said he started limping when he reached the sideline.
“I didn’t feel it at first,” said Henderson. “We got three or more or the coach was like, ‘We’re back.’ I was in pain on the bench and I didn’t have the strength in my feet to get up and walk.”
Henderson has missed three of Ohio State’s last four games. In the other hand, he carried 11 times for 19 yards against Maryland before the foot got too rough.
“I was never at 100%,” said Henderson.
Henderson was a five-star recruit from Virginia last year. He ran for 1,248 and 15 touchdowns as a freshman and added four more points as a catcher. Against Tulsa, he broke the school’s single-game rushing record set by Archie Griffin by running for 270 yards.
Henderson’s longest carry of the year was 41 yards against Arkansas State in Week 2 of the season. Then the injury drained his blast.
“I definitely didn’t have that,” Henderson said.
