The Bellator 288 is primed and ready to go down LATER TONIGHT (Friday, November 18, 2022) inside the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, featuring a championship doubleheader. In the main event of the evening, Light Heavyweight captain Vadim Nemkov will rematch Cory Anderson in the Grand Prix Final. The co-headlining of the event will be an intriguing lightweight fight as Patricky Pitbull puts his 155-pound belt on the line against Usman Nurmagomedov.

Round 1: Nurmagomedov high kick to get things started. Pitbull is a bit temporary, hasn’t fended off an attack yet. Nurmagomedov with a nice straight kick to the body. Two minutes in, not much attack. Nurmagomedov’s inside kick and Pitbull don’t do anything… ever. Another kick to Nurmagomedov’s body. Another kick, which is blocked by Pitbull. The high kick is blocked by Pitbull. Aliyah from Pitbull misses it all. There wasn’t much action in the top five, but Nurmagomedov was the busier of the two. 10-9 Nurmagomedov

Round 2: A side kick to the body lands Nurmagomedov. Pitbull lands a jab. Nurmagomedov gets takedown, and that’s Osman’s world. Nurmagomedov’s side control, now half-guard. Short elbows landing for the challenger, then some hammer first for good measure. Shots to the body of the opponent to the head. A gentle elbow punishes a pitbull’s face. They are now talking to each other. Pitbull works hard to get up, but it simply won’t happen. Nurmagomedov began landing some hard elbows as he punished the champ. He looks to be choked naked from behind but Pitbull escapes. Then Nurmagoemdov starts unloading some nasty ground and pounds with 10 seconds left. A few more seconds and this battle is over. 10-8 Nurmagomedov

Daniel Eichel against. Timur Khizrev

Round 1: Both men are a bit tentative to start. They exchange a few physical kicks but nothing major. Khizriev was forbidden to take the oath. Weichel eats one clean of his opponent. In the middle of the opening round. Gap from Weichel as he lunged in with a left hook. Kick to the ground body for Khazarev. From Weichel’s low kick, Khizriev comes over the top with a looping right hand. A gap from Weichel and a good right response from Khizriev bounces his opponent’s head back. Body kicks from Khizriev and Weichel come with a flying knee that catches the air. Double hit from Khizriev. 10-9 Khizriev

Round 2: Both came out savagely and Weichel landed a clean left hook. One – two from Khizriev land. They trade blows in the middle of the cage, which is more pressing than both guys here in the second round. Land right hand counter to Weichel. Uppercut hardly misses its mark for Khazreev. Weichel’s batter can’t hold their target, while Khizriev is busy throwing clean shots, but nothing really hurts his opponent. Khizriev blocked a kick to the head and threw his opponent to the mat. Khizriev kicks the legs, but this is not enough for the referee, who returns the fight to a standing position. A double strike split Weichel’s guard. Another nice hit for Khazreev. Weichel was cut under his left eye. Try again to hit the flying knee in the air. 10-9 Khizriev

Round 3: A beautiful left hand from Khizriev stuns Weichel. Weichel changes the level for a moment and is more urgent after two rounds than going to the last round. Khizriev uses his jab really well, which makes him unload some nice blows. There’s a nice scramble and Fishel ends up taking Khizriev’s back and that’s where he needs to do something here. Khizriev uses a sweet escape through the back door and Weichel holds on to an armbar, but only momentarily. Back to the feet and Khizriev landing a clean left hand, he really uses his crisp hitting style to dominate this fight. Weichel lands a left hook just as Khizriev misses. Weichel’s knee finally jumps and shakes Khiziev, who quickly recovers. Weichel’s forehand falls, but Khizriev runs through it as the fight ends. 10-9 Khizriev

Final result: Khizriev defeated. Weichel via unanimous decision

Terrell Fortune against. Daniel James

First round: they touch the glove. Fortune’s tricky low kick to get things started. another but James catches it and sends him crashing to the canvas. Fortune gets up and James grabs him and pushes him towards the cage, and Fortune reverses his position. There he stopped working after Fortune kneed his opponent in the groin area. Fortune shoots for takedown as soon as work resumes, and he gets it. There is not much work on the ground. Fortune offers a few shots at James’ side, but nothing seems to hurt him. James the Duck is sitting with Fortune above him. James tries to get up and Fortune takes his back and plunges into a naked choke from behind. It’s tight and James fights hands, reverses position and begins dropping bombs on Fortune to close out the round. Wild! Very close tour. 10-9 is fortune

Round 2: James built a huge lead in the opening seconds of Round 2 knocking down Fortune! He pounces and starts letting his elbows fly. one after one. The referee gives Fortune time to recover but he has seen enough. Fabulous! What a start from James!

End result: James def. Fortune via second-round TKO

Roman Faraldo against. Levan Khokhili

Round 1: Both men come out swinging and Chokheli goes early for the takedown, gets it. Chokheli nearly chokes but Faralod escapes. Back on their feet, Chokheli let his fists fly as he momentarily shook Faraldo. Chokheli goes for the takedown, stuffing and a nice judo throw from Farlaldo, who ends up in the Mount position. That was smooth. Farldo started letting the elbows fly and Chokheli somehow reversed his position and is now on guard. Chokheli doesn’t make much of this stand. Get some space and start with the ground and pound. Faraldo tries to get back up but Chokheli holds his position. Faraldo scrambles, but he can’t break away from his opponents’ tight grip. This was a close run but Chokheli took it. 10-9 Chokheli

Round two: Faraldo lands a right hand and Chokeley goes again for takedown, but it’s stuffed. They swing for the fences, but Chokheli doesn’t like it one bit and grabs Faraldo and pushes him towards the cage. Chokheli is on Faraldo’s open guard. Chokheli gets Faraldo’s back and is now looking for the naked choke from behind. Faraldo runs away but gets kicked in the face by Chokheli. Chokheli grabs Faraldo’s fist and pulls it to the fence, but he eats some elbow to the side of the head for his troubles. Chokheli with a nice right but Faraldo drops it with a nice right hand and pounces. Chokheli tries to stay alive while Faraldo unleashes hell with his fists. He is out of trouble for now. Faraldo now lands several blows to the side of the head and a point is deducted for grabbing the fence. He finishes the round with a non-stop elbow. He would have won the Tour had he not grabbed the fence. 9-9

Round 3: Faraldo needs to finish because if he wins this round, the fight will be a draw. Faraldo swings hard but nothing connects cleanly. Chokheli shoots the takedown but is stuffed again. Both men slowed slightly in the third and final round after putting up some heat in the first two rounds. Left hook from Chokheli and Faraldo returns the fire with a clean right hand. Chokheli changes level and finally gets the takedown. It’s a critical takedown that will net him points in the round. Faraldo needs to work his way up to try to get a putt or try to secure a serve from the floor. Chokheli has a great location and he’s not about to leave it. Chokheli receives a warning from the reference to work a little more. Faraldo works hard to get up, but Chokheli doesn’t budge with a minute left in the fight. The fight ends in the same stance with Chokheli on top and Faraldo trying to get to his feet. 10-9 Chokheli

The final result: Chukeli defeated. Faraldo via unanimous decision
