Megan Thee Stallion’s ex-girlfriend Kelsey Harris changes the story during the Tory Lanez trial

Harris, who was in the car during the alleged shooting, testified that she had no memory of what happened, contradicting earlier details shown to the prosecution.

On Thursday, the fourth day of the Tory Lanez trial, Kelsey Harris, former friend and assistant to Megan Thee Stallion, returned to the stand. Harris completed her two-day testimony by continuing to change and claiming not to remember her earlier statements regarding the alleged shooting.

On Wednesday, Harris began her first day of testifying at the trial. Lenz, stage name of Daystar Peterson, faces criminal charges for allegedly shooting Megan, real name Megan Pete, in the feet on July 12, 2020. Harris was in the car with Peterson and Pete when the alleged incident occurred.

Harris was granted “use immunity” for her testimony about the incident. “You do not have immunity from perjury on the stand,” Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta stated, according to the law and crime of the enforcer.

However, she spent the majority of Wednesday’s testimony saying she could not remember what happened on July 12, 2020, contradicting earlier statements she made during the investigation, according to ABC. Harris repeatedly mentioned her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, stated that her memory of the night was hazy by drinking too much alcohol and answered almost every question with, “I honestly don’t remember.”

The prosecution played part of an interview in September between Harris and Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta. Harris gave specific details of the incident during the taped interview, but while standing on the stand, she stated that she was not telling the truth in many details, saying, “I was protecting myself,” as a reason for the lies.

A text message Harris sent to the Pete guard the night of the incident was revealed. Harris’ text read: “Help. Tory shot Meg. 911.” However, Harris said she saw nothing happen and didn’t know why she was sent.

On Thursday, according to Billboard, Ta confronted Harris again about her recollection of the accident. Harris asked if Pete was shot, and got a response, “Her team told me she stepped on the glass.” Harris also stated during cross-examination that she was harassed after Pitt suggested Harris “took hush money” from Peterson for her silence.

During Pitt’s testimony earlier in the week, she stated that Peterson had offered her and Harris $1 million to not say anything about the alleged shooting.

When Harris was questioned by Peterson’s attorney, George Magdisian, she stated that Peterson had not bribed or threatened her. However, when Magdisian Harris asked, “Did my client offer you a million,” she said, “I don’t remember.”

Peterson was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm in a motor vehicle and assault with a semi-automatic firearm in connection with the alleged shooting. A third charge related to discharging a firearm with gross negligence before the trial commenced was added. If convicted, he faces up to 22 years in prison, while the third charge could carry the Canadian rapper’s deportation penalty.
