The Biggest Things That Happened in The Voice Season 22 Finale (Updated)

Below, we’ll recap all the big things that happened during the sound The Season 22 finale airs December 13 at 9/8c on NBC — from the performances to the sweet moments between Stefani and Shelton, and of course, the reveal of the winner. 10:45 p.m. ET Queen and returning trainer Kelly Clarkson bring the holiday cheer with a performance of her hit “Santa Can’t Hear Me?” Dressed in navy blue velvet and sequins, Clarkson made her holiday break in muted high tones and a slick performance. Season 23 can’t come soon enough!

10:37 p.m. ET “The body was much needed during the Blind Auditions,” Chilton says of his third finalist, whose team he ultimately chose.

Guitars in hand, and Buddy and Shelton perform Shelton’s “God’s Country”. Bodhi indicated that he chose the song while he was driving. “This song smacks!” When Buddy mentioned his apprehension whether America would welcome him singing a country song, his coach reassured him. “Whatever you do, they love,” Shelton said of America’s reception of the body this season.

10:22 p.m. ET Kane Brown and Shelton (again!) perform a fiery version of Kane’s latest single featuring Shelton, “Different Man.” For more Brown and Shelton plus bar games, don’t miss the country artist on USA Network’s new series Parmageddon.

10:19 p.m. ET Legend and Shelton: best friends for life and The strangest couple? The coaches get the sitcom treatment (complete with a laugh track) in a sketch that imagines the two as roommates, whose distinct personality quirks and differences cause minor irritation but fail to hinder their friendship. Shout out to the Legend party planning spreadsheet!

“The last time I took the plunge I ended up in the hospital, Blake,” Legend said. A question: what Is it in a chilton dip recipe?

Daly added, “Wow that Blake Shelton, he’s always in sticky situations.”

10:15 p.m. ET Breland performs his single “For What It’s Worth”.

10:11 p.m. ET Morgan Miles—the artist whose audition for the blind Camila Cabello made Stephanie’s block on day one—takes the stage with her coach Capello. The finalist and Cabello perform “Never Be the Same” by Camila Cabello after reflecting on the strong bond they have created this season. Myles donned floor-length black sequins while Cabello changed into a little black dress with heart sequins – trend of the night! – Detail on the chest and those high heels. Myles and Cabello trade high notes on the hit song from Cabello’s debut album, Camila (2018).

10:02 p.m. ET Shelton takes the stage again with team member and finalist Brayden Lab. Daly described the duo’s partnership as a combination of Lap’s amazing talent and Shelton’s “big brother energy”. To that end, Lapp revealed that Chilton had previously poked fun at the high school football team’s haircuts, while Chilton had been the main topic of discussion for Lapp’s journey as an artist who was “his heart.”

9:45 p.m. ET The winners of Season 21 and members of Team Kelly, a girl named Tom, takes the stage with “One More Christmas”, in memory of their father. We love to welcome back voice Winners and graduates! The sibling trio made their Grand Ole Opry debut in October and are currently on tour, and member Caleb Liechty recently announced their engagement.

9:44 p.m. ET Don’t miss out on these ultimate looks! Cabello wore an elegant white dress with rocker boots while Stefani wore the most sexy and glamorous red dress.

9:37 p.m. ET Maluma—the star and coach of Lavoz Kids Colombia and Lavoz Mexico—takes the stage in two performances.

9:35 p.m. ET Season 22 was Camila Cabello’s first season, and while she did her best to incorporate humor and some of her own signature jokes, we now know that she also sought help from America’s Got TalentHowie Mandel. “You know, Camilla is not a natural, but I can teach anyone,” Mandel explained. The crossover we didn’t know we needed!

In a funny sketch, Mandel teaches Camilla the art of stand-up comedy, including funny props. “His methods seem a little strange to me… He knows what he’s doing, right?!” asked Capello.

As the camera pans back to Dali, Camilla is examining if things stand still. “After seeing that, I don’t think I’ll ever tell another joke again… I’ll just stick to my day job,” explained Cabello.

9:29 p.m. ET Adam Lambert performs a powerful rendition of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World,” dedicated to the victims of the Colorado Springs shooting and the LGBTQ community. During his performance, the stage shifts from black and white to colour.

9:26 p.m. ET It’s time for the LEGEND team! John Legend and finalist Omar Jose Cardona took to the stage performing Stevie Wonder’s classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” Both of them are wearing a bold jumpsuit – Omar in purple sequins! – and backed by dancers in gold sequins.

When he spoke about his team member before the performance, he showered Omar with compliments. “I can’t hit all the notes you can hit,” he said. “It’s fun for me to imagine where we can take a song and then do it better than I ever imagined.”

As we watch this energetic, upbeat performance, along with his powerful rendition of “Somebody to Love” in Monday’s closing performance, we’re bound to ask ourselves: What I can not Omar do? Luckily Coach Legend asked him exactly that. “I can’t cook well,” Omar revealed. “This is it!” said the legend laughing. Omar can do everything.

9:15 p.m. ET OneRepublic took to the stage to perform “I’m Not Worried”. no strangers on the sound On the final night, OneRepublic previously performed “Run” on the Season 20 finale.

9:10 p.m. ETFinalist: Bryce Leatherwood and his trainer Shelton perform Shelton’s 2011 song “Hillbilly Bone”. Shelton wears a sharp black suit while Bryce wears jeans, a flannel, and his cowboy hat. The stage has a party atmosphere, with audience members serving as ceremonies sitting on folding chairs and waving red SOLO cups.

Before taking to the stage, we see an enjoyable bundle of Bryce and Shelton’s time together in season 22 and are reminded that a coach and his team member really are warm country souls.

9:02 p.m. ET: In a terrifying opening sketch, Gwen Stefani shows off her cat burglar skills in an attempt to steal the sound Cup to help secure Blake Shelton’s victory. But he doesn’t need her help…or does he? As Carson Daly introduces the coaches from their seats, Shelton enters for the last time confirming that he is she did Steal the cup.

Finally, it’s here: the sound Season 22 live finale. After weeks of Blind Auditions, Fights, Knockouts, and Live Shows, we’re down to our top 5 artists: bodie (Team Blake), Morgan Myles (Team Camila), Brayden Lape (Team Blake), Omar Jose Cardona (Team ) Legend), and Brice Leatherwood (Team Blake). But who will bring the competition home in its entirety?

Of course, before the winner is announced, viewers will have some excellent live performances. Artists set to take the stage at Live Finale night include Kelly Clarkson, Kane Brown, Blake Shelton, Maluma, OneRepublic, Adam Lambert, Breland and Season 21 winners, Trio Girl Named Tom.

Can you believe this season is already coming to an end? It seems that only yesterday the line-up of coaches was announced. Fans were thrilled when they found out that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani would be returning as coaches for the first time since tying the knot in 2021. (Fun fact: They actually met on the sound in 2014!)

Shelton has been fun this season, too. “The best part about working with my wife is that I don’t have to be away from her,” he said. NBC Insider. “And she also happens to be one of the least competitive people I know. To be on a competition show with your wife, who is also not competitive, is the greatest situation you can be in.”

Do you know who he is I was Competitive, though? Camila Cabello, this season’s first-time coach who John Legend immediately scored as a threat to anyone sitting in a red chair.

“[Camila] He was in Team Legend [in Season 21] As a celebrity guest mentor, and I can tell she was really good at it,” Legend said. NBC Insider. “In fact, I told her, ‘If a coach ever opens, you should do it because you’re going to be great in it. ‘”

“I made it harder for myself by allowing her to be my competition,” Legend continued annoyed. “And now she’s coming for the crown. We all have to watch out.”
