Some iPhone 14 Pro users have reported flashing horizontal lines on startup
Across social media, some iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max users have reported that horizontal lines flash across their iPhone screen when they turn on the device, with no apparent reason or how to fix it.
In a Reddit thread, dozens of iPhone 14 Pro users reported that one or more green and yellow lines might flash across the screen before disappearing after a few seconds when the device was turned on. According to those same users, Apple Support informed them that the problem is not due to a hardware defect but a bug in iOS 16.
According to users on Reddit and the Apple Support forums (1,2,3), f Mac rumors Forum, it appears that the problem started after the iOS 16.2 update, although some users reported that the problem occurred even on versions older than iOS 16. A Reddit user claims that an Apple engineer informed them over the phone that Apple was working to patch the problem software, but the exact details are unknown.
Apple is currently testing iOS 16.3 with developers and public beta testers, but the update isn’t expected to be released until early next year. The latest version of iOS 16 is iOS 16.2, which included several new features, including Apple Music Sing, Apple’s new Freeform app, and more.
