It’s rare these days to see an online game without built-in live-service monetization, let alone a game that sheds that stuff. But that is exactly what Subnautica Developers behind Moonbreaker they do. The tabletop RPG recently launched in Early Access on Steam, and it’s getting rid of its pay-as-you-go currency and loot boxes, and refunding players who’ve already bought it. Whether the game will remain monetization-free after its full release is a different question.
