Jin Shah Didn’t Show Up for ‘RHOSLC’ Meeting, Bravo Explodes
In not-so-amazing news, Jin Shah won’t be attending The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 3 reunion “under legal advice” — and she’s not happy about it.
Shah — who is set to be sentenced next month for phone fraud — told her Instagram followers on Friday that the decision was reached after discussing with Bravo the topics she will and will not be able to broach during the filming of the reunion.
She explained, “I have been clear with Bravo that out of respect for the courts and the injunction standing, I will not be in a position to discuss anything related to my legal case or the judgment,” claiming that the network “found this unsatisfactory and said they expected to discuss this ‘story'”.
Shah wrote, “This expectation has no concern for me or the welfare of my family.” “So under legal advice, I will not attend the reunion.”
The ‘housewife’, 49, added that she needed to ‘focus on the most important thing’ in her life right now, which was her ‘family’. She and her husband Sharif share two sons: Sharif Jr. and Omar.
Sources familiar with the situation confirmed to Page 6 that Shah was “invited” to this year’s reunion but “refused on the advice of her lawyer”.
According to the reality star, Bravo “informed” her in September that she was “not invited” to the reunion.
She explained, “I was disappointed that I wouldn’t have a place to confront mistakes and address my story with the cast members.”
However, “out of nowhere” on November 29, she received an invitation, which she said made her feel “cheerful” to be able to “have a voice” while filming.
Bravo did not immediately respond to our request for comment.
Shah’s co-star Meredith Marks recently invited her friend to take a seat on the couches at the Andy Cohen reunion.
“I definitely hope Jane gets the chance to have a voice,” Marks explained to Page Six’s Evan Reali and Danny Murphy on their “Virtual Reali-tea” podcast earlier this month.
“Obviously as the season progresses, she hears things that she didn’t know. That’s what happens to all of us. And so for her not to have a chance to address that, for me, would be very sad.”
After the current season has finished airing, fans may not see much of Shah. At BravoCon in October, Cohen hinted that the “RHOSLC” star would not be on the show after she changed her guilty plea in July.
“Once we roll [filming for Season 3, and] I pleaded guilty, I guess that was kind of the end of the engagement there, you know,” he told inquiring attendees.
“But I hope to sit down with her and talk to her sometime on camera because I have so many questions for her.”
Shah was arrested last March during the series’ second season for allegedly running a nationwide telemarketing scheme that targeted hundreds of people, mostly elderly people.
Her plea deal requires a sentence of up to 14 years in federal prison and up to $9.5 million in restitution.
