Astrid Loach and Kevin Wendt can do that finally They say they are husband and wife.
After a whirlwind romance began Bachelor in Heaven In 2018, Loch and Wendt held the knot on Friday at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida. The relationship comes after the duo – who briefly separated but later reconciled and got engaged in August 2019 – postponed their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic and welcomed their son, August, in November 2021.
Colleague BA Nation stars Rachel Lindsay, Blake Horstman, Alexis Waters, Christina Shulman and Whitney Fransway were among the 100 loved ones who gathered to help celebrate the marriage.
Fortunately for Loch and Wendt, the trip was well worth the wait – although they both agreed that it looks like they’ve been “married for a long time.”
“We’ve had a long countdown,” Wendt, 38, told People exclusively. “The countdown to this day has been going on for two and a half years.”

As the big day began, the couple wanted “a minimum of stress.”
“I feel like everyone we talk to says it’s over in the blink of an eye, so try to enjoy it. And I feel like that’s easier said than done,” continues Wendt. “But I think if we had the right wedding planner and she was able to figure it all out, it might be stressful now but in our day, we just want to have fun and not rush to worry. We just want to enjoy each other, and have fun with our friends and family.”

The pair worked with Kimberly Hensley of Kimberly Hensley Events to get to see their day totally special. It was essential for them to create “something timeless,” says 32-year-old Locke.
“We wanted to look back at photos that would still look beautiful in 20 years,” she continues. “So we kept it very modern and stylish.”
The space – which was right by the water but included a large yard – was decorated with an abundance of string lights and gorgeous flowers arranged by Victoria Blooms. They opted to have a “beautiful mix” of floral arrangements and candles lining the long farmhouse-style tables at the reception, too.
A musician was hired to play vocals for the party and during cocktail hour.
The ceremony was “unplugged”. As Locke explains, the couple wanted their guests to be “really present at the moment.”

Although they chose not to have a wedding, Loch and Wendt chose “special people” to help make their day smoother. Wendt’s brother, Justin, and Astrid’s sister, Ingrid, are tasked with giving the rings and taking the bouquet, respectively. “Everything else will be myself and I’m going up there,” he explains.
Their son was also at the altar, dressed in coordinating State & Liberty tuxedos as Loch walked down the aisle to John Legend’s “Conversations in the Dark.” Loch Ness wears a custom-made gown by Gaila Lahav. Brides by Kelly Anne + Co have her hair and makeup done. (She wore her only bridesmaid Park & Fifth Co.)
Loch’s mother walked with her down the aisle while her stepfather was in charge. The duo exchanged vows and wrote themselves in front of a beautiful flower arch.
For the reception, DJ – Inpulse – was used. The speeches were also given by Loch’s sister, Wendt’s brother, as well as their parents. They performed their first dance on Dan + Shay’s “Tequila”.

“A lot of that was about getting together in Paradise and drinking tequila together for a month,” Wendt explains.
“The song came out that summer. We’re going to dance like that and then we’ll have little shots of tequila passed on to everyone,” Loach adds. “We’ll all do a little snapshot at the end of that together and get the party started.”
Food was served by Pier 22. Their guests were treated to a prime rib carving station and a bountiful spread of typical “Florida food”, including shrimp cocktail. They served late night snacks, including sliders and mac and cheese, but there was also a dessert station.
“A little bit of everything,” Lock explains. “We just wanted really good food.”
Vanilla cake was served with berries and white chocolate ganache from Cakes by Ron, but Loch shares that they chose to skip the cake-slicing tradition.
“We don’t throw away the lace. We don’t throw away the bouquet,” she says. “We just want to hang out with our friends.”
Ally & Nicholas Photography filmed the event while Curtis Kennedy Films served as a videographer. Additional rentals for the big day were courtesy of So Staged.

Loch and Wendt are on their honeymoon in the Bahamas.
“This will be the first time we leave in August,” Luke reveals. “So my mom will be watching him for five nights, about a week after the wedding. We’re really excited for his first child-free vacation since he was born.”
After their honeymoon, the newlyweds are eager to start married life in full swing after a “really nice little training year”. Loach says they plan to move from Toronto to the Canadian suburbs, where they will be able to “take our roots in at least the next five or 10 years.”
Locke says, “Marrying and finding people from the show and all there is, it’s good to look back and think and think that such a small choice of us choosing to do this show led to all that led to it.”
