He goes to the island of tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) to find out who among Miles’ group of friends might want him killed. Coming in at just four episodes, most of which feature the brilliant Michelle Yeoh and a surprisingly charismatic (if not entirely) cast of adventurers, it doesn’t take a huge investment – and at the end of the day you still get to see someone become an elementary wizard and watch them destroy a large monster. The fight scenes are well done (even when a lot of CG is involved), and the costumes and overall art design are impressive and varied.

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Netflix ended the year with another promising K-drama, amazing, about the friendship between four young men who start out in the fashion industry, navigating work-life balance. The show will consist of eight episodes.
