Police provide an update on the investigation into the murder of rapper Migos Tykov in Houston.
Houston – Houston Police Chief Troy Fenner said Friday that investigators have charged 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark with the murder of rapper Migos Tykov. The announcement was made about 31 days after Tykov’s death.
Take-O, whose name was Kersnick Khari Paul, was shot and killed outside a private party at a bowling alley in downtown Houston on November 1. Two others were wounded in the shooting.
Takeoff was a third of the famous Atlanta-based Migos Group. Other Migos were his relatives: Quavo was his uncle and Offset was his cousin.
Fans mourned the death of the 28-year-old musician at a memorial service at State Farm Arena.

The investigation is still active and investigators are still looking for witnesses, Fenner said. Here’s what we learned from police on Friday regarding the investigation into Tykov’s murder:
What prompted the police to charge Patrick Xavier Clarke in Tykov’s death investigation?
Tykov’s fourth-grade teacher remembers him as full of life
While searching for the shooter whose bullet struck and killed rapper Migos Tykov in Houston earlier this week, a former Gwinnett County teacher recalls him.
HPD Homicide Sgt. Michael Borough said investigators struggled to find willing witnesses. Investigators relied heavily on video, audio and video surveillance on cell phones. Not all visual and audio evidence in the case was immediately available.
Investigators reconstructed the shooting to confirm the ballistic evidence.

“From that we were able to conclude that Patrick Clarke was the fatal shooter in the case, which is why he was charged with murder,” Burrow said.
Where was Patrick Xavier Clarke captured?
Police arrested and charged the shooter in Tykov’s murder
A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of rapper Tykov last month in Houston. Houston Police Chief Troy Fenner said Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, is charged with Tykov’s murder. He was arrested Thursday evening.
Houston police said authorities arrested Clarke on Sterling Green Boulevard on Thursday night.
The street is located in northeast Houston. Research shows that there are mostly single-family homes in the area.

Fenner described the arrest as “peaceful”. Wiener noted that there was a large law enforcement presence during the arrest.
We’ll come and get you, we’ll come and get you professionally, but we’re going to come hard with everything we’ve got, and he gave up,” Fenner said.
What was the motive for the shooting?
An artist dedicates a mural to the late rapper Migos Take Off
A mural in honor of rapper Migos Tykov now sits on the Atlanta Belt Line following his death during the Houston shooting. Armondo Monoletti is the illustrator behind the tribute, and he joins Good Day to share what motivated him to pay homage to the late rapper.
Police believe the shooting occurred after a high-stakes dice game at a private party. An altercation occurred after the match erupted into gunshots.
Investigators said the take off was unarmed and was a bystander.
“There was a lucrative dice game that took place at the event. An altercation ensued outside the bowling alley, which led to a shooting,” Borough said. “I can tell you Takeoff wasn’t involved in the dice game, he wasn’t involved in the controversy that was going on overseas. He wasn’t armed.”
Fenner said the police did not know if Clark had been invited to the party or if he knew Tykov. He did not provide details of what exactly happened during the match that caused the anger to flare up.
What were Patrick Xavier Clark’s bonds?
Clark’s bond was set at $2 million.
According to court documents, shortly after Tikoff was killed, Clark “applied for an expedited passport by submitting an itinerary for an upcoming trip to Mexico.”
Records show that Clark had a large amount of cash. Prosecutors argued that he was an escape risk.
How many people were there when Takeoff was shot?
Burrow said investigators learned more than 30 people were standing outside the bowling alley when the shooting occurred. The police did not disclose the exact number.
Everyone left the scene without giving a statement to the investigators. The police found some people on the night of the shooting and the days that followed.
Burrow said the investigation has not been closed and it is important for people to come forward.
He said, “We will look for you.” “It would be easier if you came and found us.”
How is Cameron Joshua involved?
Law enforcement has announced the arrest of 22-year-old Cameron Joshua on a felony weapon charge in connection with the shooting.
Prosecutors have said in court that Joshua is not believed to have fired a weapon while Tykov was shot.
Joshua was arrested on November 22nd.
“We believe Cameron Joshua has been appropriately charged in this case and we are continuing our investigation into Tikoff’s death,” Harris County District Attorney Matt Gilliam said after Wednesday’s hearing.
