“href=”https://www.gematsu.com/companies/gematsu”>Gematsu,” Kai Kim, COO of Studio IGGYMOB, told Gematsu. With the original release, people fell in love with the game’s outstanding look and design set in this distinct world. This distinctive gameplay and character charm played an important role in our decision to revive Gonegrave intellectual property. As fans of the series, it was an exciting new challenge.”
the first Gonegrave It is developed by RED Entertainment, which still owns the intellectual property rights. While its gameplay met with a mixed reception at the time, the character designs designed by Yasuhiro Nightow were very well received. Although RED Entertainment is not directly involved in Gungraph GoreNightow is still on board in a big way.
Nightow has played an active and significant role as picture director for Gungraph GoreKim explained. “In particular, we worked with Nightow on character design, posing, and more. Later, Nightow also helped us come up with names and designs for skills, expanding his role to include more as an image director.”
But waiting for a new one Gonegrave It’s been a long time. Gungraph Gore Announced in December 2017, it once had a launch window set for winter 2019, but faced multiple delays as Studio IGGYMOB struggled to find an investor.
“At that time, mobile games were the biggest market in Korea, so it was difficult to get investment as a console game,” Kim said. “The release of the game was delayed due to a mix of financial issues and changing game designs. Initially, we designed the game as a half-open world [139 articles]href=”https://www.gematsu.com/genres/open-world”>an open world, but we soon realized that it did not fit the nature of Gonegrave franchise. Looking back, it’s funny now to think we made the title half open world, but we were really serious about it at the time.”
While the idea of an open world has been abandoned, Gungraph Gore It comes packed with both new features side by side Gonegrave Pillars of the series.
Kim explains, “First and foremost, we felt it was important to include the iconic elements of the franchise, especially the unlimited ammo that stays in the game. Also, the demolition shots and high-speed shooting have been improved with a neat new look. We’ve included new and exhilarating gameplay that made sense The game is stronger We have added different systems to design the gameplay more cool and fun.
Our favorite new item is ‘The Storm Barrage’, which lets players shoot bullets like a stormtrooper. We also have things like ‘RIP’, which lets you kill stunners with a single hit, and ‘Chase’ which lets players dive into the enemy line. Finally “The Grab is a lot of fun – it allows you to drag enemies in front of players while in combat. There are so many fun and badass melee attack systems added to the game, we’re excited for players to get involved and enjoy them.”
To that end, Grave is also developing some new weapons in addition to his trademark Cerberus and Death Hauler. Even those have been upgraded.
Cerberus and the Death Undertaker are still around, but they have more skills, and we’ve added new features to the Death Cart. In previous iterations, there was no growth, but in Gungraph GoreIn the game, the player can expand and strengthen his skills and abilities by upgrading. This will become an important factor in immersing yourself in multiple rounds of gameplay.”
bumpy gore The film takes place on the fictional island of “Scumland” in Southeast Asia, after the events of… Gungrave: overdoseBut you don’t have to have played previous games in the series to follow the story, Kim explained.
In the main menu you will find a history section that will educate all players about the previous titles and story. So even if players have not played a Gonegrave Before it was easy for them to jump in. Even those with experience with previous iterations of Gonegrave Franchise can remind themselves of the story with a history section.”
with Gungraph Gore In today’s retail stores and digital storefronts, Studio IGGYMOB is looking to the future Gonegrave franchise.
“We made sure that this new iteration maintains legitimacy Gonegrave franchise but also ups it,” said Kim. “In particular, with things like a growth system, but also more rewards within different difficulties for multiple rounds of play. If you clear the hardest mode in the game, you can get Brandon Heat as the first entry into the game. I think it’s a challengeable value as a fan. Also, it would be fun to challenge players to get the highest number of kills as well.
We have some ideas for [downloadable content], but we have nothing to share now… We are planning the next part. if Gungraph Gore If it becomes successful, there’s more chance we’ll be able to develop a sequel. We’ll have to wait and see.
